It is the time of year that I finish all my unfinished projects--painting and otherwise. This would include any commissions that I can paint at my leisure--which means they do not get done in a timely manner.
I am currently working on an acrylic of a large head of garlic, a group of cupcakes from the Cutesy Cupcake Company, a commission of an old cafe-long since torn down. And then there are all those ideas that keep attacking my in the middle of the night. The ones that seem so easy then, but in the cold light of day just don't jell. Luckily I have fair amount of photos that have possibility, so will never run out of ideas. It is sometimes the choices that overwhelm me. But--all in good time.
I have finally gotten my equipment together and in a backpack, so when the time and weather co-operate, I have no excuses, and will go out and try my hand at plein air work. I have been telling myself to not expect too much as the couple times I have been out the wind was not in my favor, and I am a slow painter, so the results left much to be desired. I will need much practice!
